A brief Biography:
Troost spent his childhood wandering, biking and boating the shores of coastal Maine but grew up in Cape Porpoise & Kennebunkport. Troost having had a camera in hand from the age of 8 or so on, developed an understanding of the beauty of both the natural landscape and man's interaction with it. From busy working dingy docks to ubiquitous lobster boats and the dreamlike whimsy of passing sailboats alike, to lighthouses and just incredible sunrises or sunsets, it seemed Troost knew he had a calling to capture his surroundings on film.
With a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNH, Troost worked a number of jobs in engineering and sales. Most were various marine related endeavors. Troost picked up the camera again in earnest in the mid 80's after college, selling his photography for the first time around 1990. Eventually leaving the 9-5 world behind in 1993, Troost has been a "self deployed" photographer working often it seems more like 5~9 , "chasing light" now for over 25 years. His ever growing portfolio numbers nearly a thousand sellable images...nearly half of which are available now on this, his newest website.
