PROCESS & PRODUCTS:
Troost Fine Art Photography has an active portfolio of several hundred wonderful and varied images, with image selections ranging from the Seacoast of New Hampshire, with many now famous scenes of Portsmouth in particular, to some incredible landscapes of coastal Maine, classic New England and many other regions and subjects. The portfolio while having an emphasis on nautical scenes, with boats, lighthouses, beaches and many favorite places such as Monhegan Island and Acadia National Park, also has abstracts of natural scenes, and some incredible quintessential New England fall and winter too. Troost's iconic images from the American Southwest illustrate his enjoyment of capturing images of this region too.
While many of Troost's older images were originally captured on film, his dedication to preserving the original image is unparalleled by most of his contemporaries today. Capturing his images today digitally and printing in his state of the art digital darkroom, while continuing to explore the creative possibilities with new media and presentation methods.
With images that draw on emotion and create inspiring or reflective moods, they are presented as traditional photographs, fine art prints on heirloom quality art papers and fabrics, or they are custom matted and framed with traditional techniques and style. Troost’s work will improve the view and mood in any home or office. With custom sizes available on most images, ready-to-frame work starts very affordably at around $150. Totally customized larger pieces are also available, framed at up to 60”, for magnificent and affordable over the couch or mantle artwork. Now producing multi panel or tiled work of select images, murals of very large sizes are available for those extra large walls.
Troost’s handmade or pre-printed (boxed) note cards are available in fine shops throughout the seacoast, and can be customized with corporate logos and greetings for all occasions but most traditionally for the holidays. The cards can be found at many local shops and shows as well. As a state juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen since 2002, Troost can usually be found at the League’s annual show at the Mount Sunapee Resort from early to mid August. Troost of course welcomes visitors to his studio/ gallery at anytime by appointment.
